Took my mother here for dinner, and she said that everything tasted just like her grandmother's cooking. The latkes... were crispy and delicious. Matzo ball soup was the best I ever had! Portions were plentiful and prices were reasonable for what you got. Our server was patient and attentive. We were too full to sample the desserts, but we will plan better next time 😁. We will definitely be going back, this is my new favorite restaurant!read more

Ordered a Pastrami on Rye to bring home to my wife. Simple order right? Nope, waited close to 15-20 minutes. The egg was darn near raw as can get. Got food poisoning. This was a photo i took a day later, because i was just that... lucky i did not throw out my overly undercooked meal, because ubereats asked me just so you know, the restaurant told me that if it was delivery that i need to talk to them and before that i was not even going to get the full refund, just a refund for my undercooked egg item. I was so frustrated that wow i got a full refund. I was hoping for a voucher or something other than a tedious lawsuit. What an awful experience.read more

Mazto ball soup was horrible with little bits of dark chicken and a few slices of white chicken. Matzo ball was too... soft with too much parsley. What happened as usually it's broth with matzo ball? Worse I've ever had. Tuna melt was so-so as it had 2 little scoops of tuna covered with melted cheese on each scoop. Tasted a little too fishy and didn't eat but one scoop. Ordered slice of layered chocolate cake and that saved the meal. Won't be returning.read more

I ordered, for pick-up, what was supposed to be a shepherd's pie! The cheese was just slapped on, did not bother to... melt it! I was told, when I got to the restaurant, that they were charging me for a dinner order because I ordered past the lunch menu time. The difference between dinner or lunch is only that you choose a soup or salad. It was $16.58, sure not worth it! There were only two tables occupied at the restaurant, no wonder! Went for lunch on a Sunday. It was not busy at all. We waited almost 10 minutes for the server to even greet us. We... placed our whole order then because we had been waiting. We waited almost an hour for the food to arrive. My "hot" ham and Swiss was not even toated and the server said my food did not come with fries even though the menu clearly states it does. The server was not even apologetic when I voiced my frustration over the pace of the meal. She simply left the check on the table.read more

OMG the tongue sandwich was incredible. I was full but could have easily done lunch all over again!Update 2022:... Seems like portion sizes have gotten much smaller. This is usually a place I must go to every time I come to Florida but for $18 I really wish I got more than a small portion of tongue for my sandwich. This Toojays has gone way downhill. Our waitress seemed like she hated everything about her life, literally said 2... words to us during the entire dinner. Was throwing stuff on the table and rolling her eyes. We did come in like 30 mins before closing time…but we ordered quickly and ate fast and left. If it was such a burden they could have just chosen not to seat us.The sandwich sizes are laughable for what you pay. It’s like 2 bites of meat on each half of the sandwich.read more

I ordered lasagna and this is what I got, no sauce some kind of weird sake send with cheese on top of it, wilted salad.... The herb you see sprinkled around I added that just to try to save the meal. If you are trying to put your store out of business this is definitely the way to do it. TooJay's is always had an awesome reputation but this is unacceptable. If you don't know how to cook Italian food don't put it on your menu. And certainly don't put a picture on your menu that looks completely different than the food you serve.read more

Parking is typically available. The restaurant can get crowded on weekends & during brunch. Upon entering, the host... informed us that we would be helped right away. We came to purchase some baked goods but wanted a second opinion & the cashier answered all of our questions about cookie platters & prices. We decided on the banana dream cake which was $25. It was well worth the price as it was absolutely delectable. The banana cream filling is refreshing & delightful, the chocolate ganache topping is lovely & the second light chocolate cream complements all of the elements beautifully! I ordered 7 corned beef, cabbage, and carrots and red potato meals to pick up at 11:00 on St Pattys Day. The staff were... helpful and pleasant and I tipped them $10.00. I took the meals to my Mom’s ladies group and all of the meals had grossly undercooked carrots and potatoes. It almost seemed they were just steamed for 2 minutes. The plastic knife provided would not even cut them. So, they were only able to eat the corn beef and cabbage. Not worth 18.00 a meal. This is the third fail on take out and eat in meals at this location. We will not be back.read more

The seniors that live in the Boynton beach area have a completely different schedule. They've already started eating at 8am at the competition with a similar menu. They are just as good.
